Constantia Glen has been farmed by the same family for nearly fifty years - yet this farm is also the most recent Constantia property to be planted to vines.
A pristine 60ha rural landscape on the slopes of the Constantiaberg has been integral to this history. The farm was transformed from dense rolling pine forest to an Angus cattle stud and then the progression continued during the 1990s when extensive soil and microclimate studies revealed exceptional sites on the farm suitable for the production of Sauvignon blanc as well as the components of a Bordeaux-style red blend.
The state-of-the-art 120T gravity-fed cellar was completed in 2007. While ultra-modern, the cellar is purposely not a showpiece, it blends right into the surrounding landscape and houses a small private tasting facility that embraces the scenic beauty of the Constantia Valley and nearby False Bay.
Any roasted game, beef dishes and pastas with rich tomato sauces.
IWSC Silver medal Best in Class 2009.
